The Daily Star reported that Facebook is still using facial recognition on peoples photos, and is looking into even more intrusive ways of using it. We were quoted:
“Facebook’s attempts to pressure users into consenting to facial recognition by promoting it as a security tool, while at the same time applying for patents to match shoppers’ faces to their online profiles is deceitful.
“The fact that Facebook still uses facial recognition on people’s photos without their consent is exploitative and could infringe their legal rights. These contradictory practices are an insult to users and a gross invasion of their privacy.”
