A university has been found to be surveillance technology to track students and check what websites they are looking at, with the vice-Chancellor saying that the university ‘pretty much knows what you’re doing 24/7’ thanks to its use of new technology.
Director Silkie Carlo said:
“This sinister surveillance campus is the horrifying result of institutionalising counter-terrorism and border control policies into public education.
“Universities are supposed to be environments for freedom, exploration and learning, not security zones where students are constantly monitored.”
