Post summary

This is an exciting senior position for an exceptional digital communications manager who wants to work for a high-impact campaigning NGO. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and grow the digital channels of one of the UK’s leading rights NGOs. We’re looking for someone with a vision to help take our digital reach to the next level, whilst respecting supporters’ privacy.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Director and Head of Advocacy to build campaigns that respond to pressing threats to our freedoms. You’ll devise strategies to run successful digital campaigns including mass mobilisation; you’ll curate the supporter journey for our network of 100,000 email subscribers; you’ll manage and produce highly engaging content including long and short form videos and graphics for our social media channels; and you’ll lead our digital fundraising.

About you

The right candidate will have strong experience in a similar role and a proven track record in social media management, content/video production and digital fundraising.

You’ll have experience working across a range of digital channels, including social media and video, website CMS, and email marketing platforms such as MailChimp. We are looking for someone who will diligently uphold our brand identity and voice; who is self-motivated, resourceful, and a proactive team player. You will be flexible, able to work under pressure and thrive managing a busy and sometimes competing workload.

Volunteer with us

We are recruiting 2 x Legal and Policy Volunteers and 1x Advocacy Volunteer. The roles are based in our London office near Westminster (SE1 7SJ).


Location: Vauxhall, London (one day a week)
Closing Date: 26 May 2026 at 23:30. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis so we recommend applying ASAP.
  • 2 x Legal and Policy Volunteers:
    We're recruiting one volunteer to focus on free speech issues and one volunteer on facial recognition and digital ID issues.
    In this role, you'll be volunteering with Advocacy Team to help us analyse a range of current legislation impacting privacy and civil liberties; digest emerging policy and research papers; conduct parliamentary monitoring and research; and supporting advocacy strategies to achieve change and protect rights and liberties in the UK. Prior experience is not essential; nor do you need to be training as a lawyer; but motivation and a high level of interest in our issues are vital! You'll be given guidance and supervision to help grow your skills in these areas. This role is ideal for people looking to grow skills in policy or legal analysis, research or campaigns.

  • Advocacy Volunteer
    In this role, you'll be volunteering with Advocacy Team to help us analyse a range of current legislation impacting privacy and civil liberties; and supporting advocacy strategies to achieve change and protect rights and liberties in the UK. This role is ideal for people looking to grow skills in policy or legal analysis, campaigns or communications.

  • We are looking for volunteers with:

    • A demonstrable passion for civil liberties and either research, campaigning or policy/law
    • Interest in the intersection of technology and human rights
    • Courage to hold the powerful to account
    • An ability to volunteer in-person for 1 day (Mon-Fri) per week from our Vauxhall office for a minimum of six months

    What we can offer:

    • We will reimburse your travel costs within London (zones 1-6) or cover up to £16.30 a day if commuting to our office from outside London, and a daily lunch allowance of up to £7
    • Experience working as part of a dedicated, dynamic, positive team of campaigners on critical civil liberties issues
    • Monthly supervisions and support
