The ex-police chief who created the Police National Database – a giant police database of 3 billion items of information, thousands of photos of innocent people, and a test-bed for facial recognition – now works for the company that runs the database.

Director of Big Brother Watch, Silkie Carlo, said:

These revolving doors in the public sector risk are partly to blame for the expansion of the surveillance state and eroding the rights of the British public.

Innocent people and taxpayers are paying the price for his mistakes whilst he creams profits off the back of them.
