Holyrood – Scottish Bill proposes the creation of Biometrics Commissioner

A new Bill in the Scottish Parliament proposes the creation of a new commissioner to oversee the use of biometric data. The commissioner will create a code of practice that will govern the use of fingerprints, facial images, voice recordings and DNA samples in the criminal justice system.

Big Brother Watch have warned of an “epidemic of facial recognition in the UK.”
