Several privacy and rights groups including Big Brother Watch, Open Rights Group, and Amnesty International Scotland have written to Scottish Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf, calling for the new Scottish Biometrics Commissioner’s remit to be expanded from dealing with just police use of biometrics to include all public bodies and private bodies using biometric technologies on Scottish citizens.
